Overview
Fort Pitt Grammar School is a selective girls’ grammar school with Academy status in Chatham, Kent, and is built on Fort Pitt Hill, the site of an old Palmerston Fort. The school was judged as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas in its last Ofsted inspection. The school became an Academy in 2010, and since 2012 has worked with two local schools as part of the Fort Pitt Grammar School Academy Trust. In 2015 the school merged with another local secondary school and formed FPTA Academies. The school has been designated as a ‘Leading Edge’ school and a National Support School. It has also recently been nominated as a Champion School for the National Citizen Service programme.
