World Book Day is a day organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to promote reading, publishing and copyright.
In the UK, the day is recognised on the first Thursday in March, i.e. 6th of March.
To celebrate this, the children at our Southgate, Dartford & Essex Centres were encouraged to write not more than a page and a half long of a book review of any book they have read and loved with the following information;
- Tell us the Title
- Tell us the Author
- Describe the setting and characters
- Brief summary of the book
On submission of the book review by Saturday 7th of March, the child with the best book review for each group chosen by the tutors i.e. Group 1 ( 5+ & Pre7+), Group 2( 7+ to the 11+ group) will win a Vue cinema ticket for a family of 4 up to £25 or £20 amazon voucher whichever is preferred.
