Leaders are Readers was adjudged the Supplementary School of the Year in December 2007 by MP Diane Abbott and London Mayor, Ken Livingstone, at the LSBC Conference attended by Lord Adonis, Minister for Schools and Learners.

The award was made in recognition of Leaders are Readers' contribution to the education of Black and minority ethnic children in London and was a result of nominations by parents of children who attend or had attended the school.

Leaders are Readers have also had editorials in The Barnet Press, the Enfield Advertiser and The Primary Times magazine in recognition of this award.
